CCG has conducted a study to develop and preserve the municipal buildings and facilities in the historical and heritage neighborhoods of Riyadh in cooperation with Al-Madar Engineering Company. This work is in line with the strategic development of the significance of the city’s heritage areas, and the cultural, social and historical values they represent.

The project includes studies of 120 heritage buildings distributed over several sites. The work is implemented in five stages starting from the study of the urban structure of the heritage buildings and the evaluation and development of the strategies for dealing with the buildings and setting standards, up to the development of the project models.

Ra’ed Darabseh, Director of CCG’s Architectural Division said “The aim of this study is to enhance the urban, natural and recreational environment around the area, and to re-integrate it with the development plan, in line with the Kingdom’s vision to preserve the identity of heritage buildings for future generations. Also to achieve an economic and tourist return for the city of Riyadh and to be a new environmental destination for residents and visitors in the region.”
