Project Description

The Cube; Jordan Engineers Association New Headquarters resides on an uphill plot of approximately 11,000m2 land area. It will host the different administrations and offices of JEA as well as the public facilities and renowned training center of Jordan Engineers and Architects. JEA Cube is programmed into approximately 32,000 m2 built-up area.
The design of JEA Cube not only responds to a vital need to restructure the organizational hierarchies of JEA; but also to realize the aspiration to renew, vitalize and create an interactive scene that appeals to Engineers and Architects of all specialties, groups and ages. JEA Cube will be identified as a destination for all members; a hub where they can communicate and interact on various levels, professionally, culturally and socially.
The name JEA Cube reflects the symbolic form of the engineered 36m-edged cube that composes the main vertical volume. The elevated cube enhances a visually iconic presence. Furthermore, it provides a flexible, adaptive and modular framework to host diverse working environments that are contemporary and interactive. To contrast the built volume of the cube, visually and functionally, an extended square presents a ceremonial plaza and celebrated entrance to the CUBE as it sculpts its mass to introduce the interactive space of a central atrium. Additionally, the square transcends users through its courtyard to different levels, linking to the many public venues within JEA. 
Created is a reinvented, bold landmark. One that responds to the cultural, social, economic and climatic needs and aspirations of its community and context.
